Does anyone know how long a form I-817 take to process.?

I applied December 9th and want to travel May 12-16. My current EAD expires 05/13/2011. If I travel on the 12th, within the U.S., will I be able to come back on the plane? My license doesnt expire until 07/23/2017. I guess its a double question, hope someone can help me. Thanks in advance.
