How are bees and their products, like honey and wax, used in veterinary medicine?

I am doing a 4-H project on how bees are used in veterinary medicine and having a bit of a difficult time trying to find the information. I know that honey is great for allergies if it's local honey and it will also help heal injuries, but in what other ways are bees used in medicine? (preferably veterinary medicine)
