How much it will cost depends on size car you get and how long you have it. Three months will be a different charge than a day by day charge. You will need to rent, I don't believe you can lease for three month, but if you can you can be assured the payents will be very high. Check out maybe buying a cheap car and then selling it when no longer needed... don't think it would be but in your case may be cheaper.

Would government shutdown affect my OPT application?

I am an international student. I will graduate in this May. I submitted my OPT (Optional practical training) application to the USCIS office on March 23. I believe it takes 60-90days for processing to get my 1 year EAD (employment authorization document) card. However, as the news says the federal government may shutdown. Help! How can i heal my puppies cut!?

How should I proceed with my landlord situation?

My landlord asked if we would mow the lawn, and when we asked if we could get a rent break for doing it, she freaked out, stating that she was going to raise the rent or kick our third roommate out. Only myself and my husband are officially on the lease, but we know from Burlington, Vermont law (where we live) that our roommate is a legal tenant anyways, so she can't just kick her out. We also know from Burlington law that she needs to give us 90 days written notice in order to raise our rent. The problem is is that she is unreasonable, and if we don't give in to her demand to start paying an extra $100 by August first (which she has asked for by text message, not in written notice, and gave us less than 60 days notice for) and instead request formal written notice, I am 100% positive that when she does give us written notice, it will be to raise the rent by at least $300, if not more. We signed an 18 month lease with her, which doesn't end until April, and had heard from our local tenant's association that we can't be held to a lease of more than 12 months unless it's been registered with the clerk's office, which it hasn't been. Unfortunately, the tenant's association hasn't been able to find this statute, and when I spoke to a local lawyer, he didn't know anything about it either. He suggested that we just give her notice anyways, break the lease, and let her take us to court. If we can't leave legally until April, what should we do? If we try to fight back and insist on notice, we could be stuck dealing with substantially higher rent and her wrath for almost 10 more months. Advice?

I was held at gun point and robbed right outside my apartment. The main light by my apartment is not working, making it very dark. The guy hide in a dark corner waiting for someone to walk by. I contacted my apartment office and told them what happened. They said they would fix the light and get a security guard. Is it o.k. for another tenant to block my car in so I can't get out of my driveway?

I share a home (duplex) with another tenant. He has a space for his car (and enough space for someone to park their car in back (his friend or whomever)..............Then there is a space for the landlord and his truck and then one for me....................my space isn't really big enough for two cars but mine fits just fine; so that is no issue. The issue is this........Instead of the other tenants "guests" parking on the road, they park in back of me sideways (so they are just off the road and blocking me in. There is no possible way to get my car out unless I go to the other side of the house and ask them to move. My job requires me to "get up and go" sometimes within a few minutes notice (I work as a coordinator of specific services).......anyway........I don't want to have to go up and go pound on their door and ask for them to move for me every time..........who knows if I'll even have a space when I get back..............I asked the landlord what to do because I am frankly sick of complaining about everything they "rudely" do. He said to just park so far back that no one could possibly park in back of me. O.K. that sounds good. I'll try that tomorrow.........................Hopeful… I won't get a call tonight because the neighbors and I do not get along and I really don't want to deal with them. I'm not crazy about rude people. Is an abscess on a cat that has undergone operation supposed to be an open wound with pus still draining?

There is no tube for the drainage, and the vet gave me no pain meds or antibiotics. I thought after cutting away dead skin they were supposed to close the wound back up. What worries me most is the sight of the wound, it stretches from right under the chin to the top of the throat. The circumference of the wound has to be at least 3 or 4 inches. Everything inside of me is telling me that this is way past the threshold of normality, granted the wound was quite a bit more massive than that before it got operated on. The abscess itself formed within the space of 2 days, and somehow had burst into her mouth, which is extremely distressing and troubling. I didn't take her to her normal vet, and I'm hoping someone with veterinary knowledge can tell me if this sounds like SOP for an abscess. It seems to me that they took away entirely too much skin, I highly doubt that much of it was necrotic. The procedure was more expensive than I have the money for, but I love this creature more than any damn amount of recycled green fibers. The only advice I was really given was to take a warm compress to the affected site twice a day for 10 - 20 minutes. They say she has a low red blood cell count and possible kidney disease. Could this be a reason for not prescribing antibiotics? They had given her an antibiotic injection, but the lack of a prescription has me worried. Now, I'm a pretty paranoid individual, but nothing about this situation feels right to me. Can anyone offer some guidance?

There are two vet schools in California. One is up at UC Davis and the other is Western University in Pomona. It is not necessary to attend one of those schools for your pre-vet work though. You can do that at any school. If you truly want to stay in southern California then Western is your only option for vet school and it's extremely expensive and they give no preference to California residents.

Dog with parvo. What are some signs of improvement?

I have a husky mixed with German shepherd, he's only 7months old and on Saturday (4 days ago) he started vomiting a clear and foamy liquid, had lethargy, loss of appetite, but no diaehrria. So on Monday (2 days ago) we took him to the vet and they gave him two 250 mg shots of ampicillin (antibiotic) and cerenia to stop the vomiting. I brought him home and have been syringe feeding him A/D veterinary food since then, he still drinks water. Last night he vomited twice but this time it was yellow and gooey, he hadn't vomited alll day thoug. It seems like he has gained a little bit more strength today since I saw him walking earlier in the morning but he still looks depressed and has vomited once today and no still no diaehrria..... I really don't know if he's improving or is he gonna get worst? :( I take care of him 24/7 and he's being fighting the virus for 5 days

USA asylum case USCIS Immigration court?

I came to USA on visa waver on 4th of September. Applied for asylum on 30th of November. But my case was received only on 6th of December. So I was told by USCIS that because it was over 3 months they have no jurisdiction under me and they transferred my case to immigration court on 10th of January. I was not entered into court automatic system. My document were declined and sent back to NSCIS. They kept them for about 5 months and only after numerous calls and visits they told me that USCIS filed something incorrectly and they are sending my case back to USCIS. I have called, faxed and visited local USCIS office. They did not gave me a straight answer. Just said that were was a computer related problem and they cannot enter me into the system as they don't have enough rights. So they have to deal with court to handle my case. I asked for how long it may take and they said that they don't know. I just sent a fax to local congress representative, planing to send a letter to the Los Angeles immigration court. Question would be is were something else I could do ? As I have been in this situation over 150 days and I still can't apply for EAD as USCIS clock is stoped and I haven't even had my first hearing with immigration judge.

How can I be credited by my landlord for money I spent trying to obtain a certificate of occupancy?

i'm renting out the first floor of a building as a restaurant in NYC, the building's C of O is not for a restaurant when it was converted 5 yrs ago by previous tenant. I'm aware of the fact that there is no CO and signed a lease that I would have to obtain the C of O no matter the cost. It's been more than a year and a lot of concerns from the NYC building dept has extended the expected time of completion, but it's almost there and I do expect to complete. Money was spent for renovations and architect fees to ensure the approval from the DOB, inspections have been passed but there are more to go. I was too naive to think that it was alright to rent a place with no C of O. If proper authorities find out that the restaurant does not have a CO, that it is being worked on, but the DOB evicts me anyway, will I be able to sue my landlord for expenses paid for renovations and professional fees invested into the building? How are my chances at actually winning the case?

Yes, vet schools are expensive & there are no cheap ones. You will have to take out loans, professional schools do not give out scholarships. Yes, it is incredibly competitive (more so than med school) but how you do in college will determine if this is in your future or not.

I would take him to small claims court to get your deposit back. Unless he can prove you caused the pipes to break by not using the gas heat, he doesn't have cause to keep your deposit. Even if he could prove this, I don't think you can be held liable with nothing in your lease saying you agree to heat the garage below your basement.

Well a program in veterinary medicine would be ideal.........but biology and chemistry and more specific related fields may do just fine, or definitely give you credentials, as you said you've taken anatomy and what not in high school, you just have to be confident with the education you do have, especially if it's related, as biology is essentially almost the same a veterinary program. But if you have any outside experience with animals........ or even just a passion for animals............ you could become a veterinary assistant to this day while your in college. I almost got a job working for a vet at like $20/hr, that I had found online, but i never followed through....... and I'm not even sure they hardly considered my major. My little cousin is in a veterinary medicine program, and just finished her freshman year of college and has just gotten a veterinary assistant job. What it entails......I'm not exactly sure of......maybe not as "high up" as if she did have her bachelors, but hey who said you need a degree?

Assured shorthold tenancy ending, what are my options?

(before that I wanted to become a zoologist). I would love to know what A-levels I would need if any? Would I be better off going to College or an Army College in either Harrogate or Winchester? Hi I am a new landlord, decided to rent my house out to a older lady and her daughter. After they were in for 2 weeks she asked if her friend could move in to help with the rent. With a pending I485 based on marriage can you remain employed?

I had the receipt of the i485 that USCIS mailed to me. They sent me a temporary EAD - i never got it renewed while working because i was basically told they should get back to me on the green card decision before the EAD expires. Well hello people i am 17 years old and ive been with my girlfriend 8 months exactly. My issue is when it comes to sexual stuff. Vet schools are some of the most competitive schools int he country-there are only 28 or so. The requirements are on any vet web page, you will need more science that you have. Unlike med school, they are not looking for all kinds of crazy majors; vets do not need to be as well-rounded. You might want to talk to a school adviser, or really have a serious talk with yourself about really becoming a vet vrs just having a passing thought. Because you will need to fully embrace the science, the vet volunteer experience, etc.

Renter wont sign extended or new agreement. What can I do in TN?

We rented a lot to a friend so the mortgage co would make the sale and allow her to put her double wide Mobile home on the lot. We signed a one year lease for $0 amount knowing later we might have to rewrite the agreement. I have seen people give advice for things that need professional care. You dog may be better way before then, however, the parvo virus is easily carried around. For example since your dog was positive for it you could carry it around on your shoes for up to a year! I walk my dog daily and in the summer I try to go early in the morning or in the evening. I was walking him mid-morning the other day, later than usual, and the next day he had a limp in his front paw. I would start him on the kidney failure food, and any supplements your vet has given you. You don't want to not treat him because you feel he may have been disniagnosed. Kidney failure if not treated can go into very fast decline. And question... why if he went from 50 pounds to 36 pounds were you feeding him a weight control formula?? And yes i am aware of the iams recall.. at the clinic i work for we have had dogs come in that were on that formula and a handful of them were diagnosed with kidney failure. So in general you need to follow up with your vet on a blood recheck to see if the levels have improved and if not what needs to be done next.

you won't be able to file an I-485 for your husband for quite a long while. That's only possible when a visa is available, and since you're a legal permanent resident, it will be four years from the time you filed your petition before the petition will be valid for use and a visa is available. that wasn't true a few months ago, but the cut off date for F2a petitions regtrogressed, or moved backwards and that is the way it is for now. so, unless your husband can find an employer to sponsor him for an H1b work visa or he can find some other way to stay legally, he'll need to leave when his OPT runs out, or he'll be out of status. Now, if you become a US citizen, that will change the entire answer but that would have to happen pretty quickly. I'd highly recommend talking to your attorney again sometime soon before his OPT status expires.

Very jealous! I wanted to work in a veterinary hospital but where I live it doesn't pay enough. If I were going to a veterinary hospital, I would hope that the staff would be friendly, approachable and accomodating. I hate going to the vet clinic where I take my dog because the staff are so cold and uninterested in helping customers. I wouldn't feel comfortable having one of my babies be in the hands of people who were cold and unenthusiastic. I would want them to be good people, and I'd want it to be easy to tell that they're good people. I spent a number of years at college studying for animal related qualifications. I then decided that the veterinary field was where my interest lay. If you DO think that biology and chemistry are your next step, because you want badly to be a vet, then I'm sure you'll make them work. Don't put yourself down, or you could negatively impact your ability to function in these classes that might be a little harder for you. (And there's no way around it; to practice medicine in any form you need those sciences, sorry.) Dog with parvo. What are some signs of improvement?

I have a husky mixed with German shepherd, he's only 7months old and on Saturday (4 days ago) he started vomiting a clear and foamy liquid, had lethargy, loss of appetite, but no diaehrria. So on Monday (2 days ago) we took him to the vet and they gave him two 250 mg shots of ampicillin (antibiotic) and cerenia to stop the vomiting. I brought him home and have been syringe feeding him A/D veterinary food since then, he still drinks water. Last night he vomited twice but this time it was yellow and gooey, he hadn't vomited alll day thoug. It seems like he has gained a little bit more strength today since I saw him walking earlier in the morning but he still looks depressed and has vomited once today and no still no diaehrria..... I'm a veterinary technician and being so, part of my job is to recommend certain services and products. We have to recommend Science Diet food to clients. If a pet is overweight, put them on science diet w/d, if the pet has allergies, recommend science diet z/d, etc... its the only brand we, and most animal hospitals sell. The problem is I don't feel comfortable recommending it. I think the food is absolute crap. I personally feed my pets blue buffalo, and I wish I could recommend it to clients. BAH After Divorce in the Army?

I have filed for divorce in Texas, and it will be final after 60 days. I am an E-4, collecting the BAH W/DEP rate. Both my wife and I are on a lease off post that will last another 10 months. I currently have an allotment set up for the total BAH W/DEP amount that goes into her account since the rent comes out of her account. The landlord will not let me off the lease, and she has no way of paying the rent without me, and I cannot afford to pay anything without BAH. My question is, when the divorce is final, can I put in a 4187 to change to the without dependents rate for length of the lease since that was done prior to my BAH entitlement ending, or am I just SOL and going to have to go into debt with breaking a lease and having that on my credit? Fort Hood doesn't authorize BAH usually unless you are E-6 and above, and S1 wasn't any help at all when I asked them this question. Guinea pig biting. HELP!?

I've had a guinea pig named sprinkles for about 2 months now. other than lately, she was a very sweet and gentle guinea pig. I've had guinea pigs before, but never had this problem. she's rather young, but kinda fat. if you go around her chin or stomach, she bites you. and sometimes even if your just sitting there. and it's not a nibble, it's a full on bite. To punish her for this, I don't hit her, but i put her back in the cage until she calms down. The only way to test for herpes is through a blood test to screen for the virus. Until you get that done and receive results saying you are in fact negative there is no point in trying to convince yourself otherwise. If you have a bump or red mark on your penis then it is possible that it is herpes or genital warts. It's also possible that it is an ant bite, ingrown hair, yeast infection, jock itch, chaffing from masturbation or any number of things! Just go to the Dr and tell them that you want to be tested for herpes...it's that simple. And in the future I would suggest that you know your partner before sleeping with them and use a condom. The reason I say know your partner AND use a condom is because herpes can be transmitted even when wearing a condom if the person is having an active outbreak and any part of your uncovered genitals (example , testicals or anus) come into contact with an active blister. Also, in case you didn't know already, cold sores or fever blisters is a type of herpes (hsv1) so be aware of that as well when choosing a partner and do your homework when it comes to being sexually active and just go get the test already!

It is totally normal for a male beardie not to leave the female alone and it isnt the male who governs the females body clock, but her. If her body clock says so, she will lay, say 8, clutches a year, with or without the presence of a male, so keeping them seperate will not stop her laying. Another year she may not lay a single clutch, even though he mates with her. I always keep mine together, it gives them both their natural roles. In the wild they live in little harems of one male to several females. Yes he can sense her and if he sees her then he will make a "flying leap" to try and get to her. Arm waving is a sign of being subordinate which he was probably doing to you because you calmed him and then he spotted her and did the hierarchy bit by head bobbing. All perfectly normal. I sent a letter to Section 8 regarding my unit not having air. All of a sudden the inspector tell me that the landlord only provide one window unit and that it was in my lease. When it comes to my newspaper column I start that first paragraph in my head and then miraculously the story evolves. Here in FL you'd need to hand them a 3-day notice of eviction or do it by certified mail return receipt. Then the attorney could file a paper and judge approve it and the sheriff would be sent out to the place, knock on their door and ask them to leave. If you tell the sheriff that they've been a problem then the sheriff would stand there and wait until they leave. Here you cannot toss their belongings out on the street you must put it into storage for them and then if they don't claim it there they lose it for good. You'd call a PUD or POD and fill it and then also charge them for the storage fee. The judge would issue a judgment for what they yet owe you and for anything they messed up while there. You'd need to supply the court the proof of how much they paid and how much they didn't, a copy of the lease, pictures of what they messed up or you had to clean or fix, etc.

Well for the tack stuff I've never been in a lease where they provide tack so you're lucky if you do find someone to provide it and they usually charge extra. If you have never really done english then you need lessons. You ride a lot different than in western, there's more balance required in english. The only horse in that ad I would recommend for you would be "Calise "Spungold Givemewings" as it sounds like a patient horse as even though you have been riding for a long time you'll find your balance won't be very strong in english where you'll want an easier horse. That last horse also does western so you could always stick to western. If I were you I would just get a cheap saddle off of ebay (I had an english saddle from there for about 50$) unless you want quality then go with doversaddlery.com or maybe stateline.com. Why are lower division science courses so much harder than upper division?

I also found this to ring true with engineering classes as well. Lower division engineering classes seemed more disciplinary, with more homework, and wicked exam curves. Same goes with organic chemistry and other science classes, and the instructors do not easily curve the class, they make it seem as though they are nice. Upper division engineering courses, I could basically relax in the course and it was pretty intuitive what questions would be asked on the tests. With introductory chemistry classes for example, there is such a huge broad range of topics and variation. I can pretty much also take a veterinary pathobiology class too at a very high level, and the course is not hard, whereas the science classes really do take a lot of time at the lower level. I think there is some quota for introductory science teachers grading or else they think just because the grades were low, that people did not know the material because they are young, and thus allow the low grade distribution.
