Uk Veterinary medicine/science application?

Hi! I'm doing a bit of research as I hope to apply to do a vet med/science course in the UK in two years (I've just finished my GCSEs). I was wondering, Unis such as Liverpool offer a honours course whilst some like Nottingham offer a diploma. What's the difference between the two and which should I opt for? Thanks!
