When entering a hospital, what qualities do you look for?
Very jealous! I wanted to work in a veterinary hospital but where I live it doesn't pay enough. If I were going to a veterinary hospital, I would hope that the staff would be friendly, approachable and accomodating. I hate going to the vet clinic where I take my dog because the staff are so cold and uninterested in helping customers. I wouldn't feel comfortable having one of my babies be in the hands of people who were cold and unenthusiastic. I would want them to be good people, and I'd want it to be easy to tell that they're good people. You sound like you have a good head screwed onto your shoulders, so you probably don't even need any tips for this one :) In a situation of distress, I would appreciate honesty the most...If say I had a horse in surgery, I would just want to stay posted on how it was going and know that I hadn't been forgotten. If I was in a waiting room, it would cost a nurse nothing to simply smile reassuringly. My dogs vet doesn't even wait for animals to wake up after going into surgery before he palms them back off to the owners.
