Can I work on L2 visa without EAD ? I have my SSN with me and what kind of jobs can I take without EAD ?

My husband is on an L1 A visa. I have applied for an EAD, but till it gets processed can I start working on a full time job ? If No what kind of jobs can I take on L2 till EAD gets processed ?
